POSITION: IT AND PR COMMUNICATION OFFICER

Summary of role

The role develops websites, advertising materials and other digital content using both print and motion graphics that combine the use of art and technology. The role focuses on using text and images to create illustrations or animations to communicate ideas and messages that inspire, inform, or bring awareness to public or stakeholders of the organization, through print media, advertisement and corporate reports. This role is also responsible for providing support and administration on IT infrastructure, applications and hardware of the organization. This role also establishes positive associations with the public and mass media on important updates and activities of the organization to increase services awareness or knowledge of their recent developments to promote cooperative relationships. In addition to controlling information output, the role also handles incoming requests for information from media outlets or parties which have interest in the organization’s development.

Job Descriptions:

Artwork Designing:
• Produce and create digital Web and print solutions, including custom page layouts, email templates, reports, signage, banners, project brochures, pamphlets, etc.

Website and IT Infrastructure Maintenance:
• Ensuring smooth running of IT hardware, applications such as anti-virus, email connection, security/risks, network printers and users management of CIMT
• Provide 1st level support and maintenance for hardware and applications while liaising with vendors to ensure complex IT issues are resolved timely and effectively
• To monitor and administer servers eg Active Directory, File server, database backup, software updates, etc
• Other IT related inventory management and administration

Public Relation
• Provide assistance to strengthen public and media awareness on IMT-GT’s development
• Manage and develop organization’s media database, ensuring it’s up-to-date and appropriately targeted.
• Monitor and report on media coverage. Provide internal clip reports and re-share relevant stories to organization’s followers via social media.
• Manage the development and production of print materials such as newsletters, brochures, corporate presentations, donor retention materials, annual reports, etc.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the drafting and editing of marketing materials (ads, brochures, etc.)

Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably with minimum of 2 years experiences

IT and Design Literacy
• Ability in multimedia designing and has knowledgeable in IT support.
• Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, HTML, Dreamweaver on PC platforms and knowledge Flash Action Scripting would be an advantage
• Should ideally have extensive experience with WordPress, Moodle and conversant in programming languages such as HTML5, PHP, Perl, Python, Java etc. that are commonly used in the web.
• Knowledge in Windows, server, webpage, domain management and applications
• Creative, versatile, meticulous and have an eye for detail

Language Skill
• Excellent written communication skills in English, preferably in Bahasa Malaysia as well.
• A compelling writing style and an ability to target messaging to diverse audiences. Excellent proof-reading and copy-editing skills.

Personality
• An open mind, positive attitude and most importantly, self-motivated.
• Good analytical skill, trouble-shooting skill and problem-solving ability
• Able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
• A team player who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and multitasking
• Strong ability to priorities multiple tasks, including ‘big picture’ and detailed issues, and remain flexible when faced with short or changing timelines.
• A self-starter with a proactive approach, able to work independently but effectively within a team setting.
• Flexible thinker, excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic planning skills.
• An excellent team player – collaborative in approach; experience of working in partnership with others to achieve solutions.
• Willing to travel and work in Putrajaya
• Able to start work immediately

Salary: Starting salary MYR 3,600/month
