IMT-GT COOPERATION : CIMT PRESENTS ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONNECTIVITY PROPOSALS TO BATAM

On June 7, 2023, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor’s office in Batam, Indonesia. Mr. Jefridin Hamid, the Regional Secretary of Batam Municipality, received the visit on behalf of Mayor Muhammad Rudi. Mr. Firdaus Dahlan was accompanied by Ms. Melissa Mokhtar, Deputy Director of CIMT, and Heriawan, the Project Coordinator and Analyst of CIMT.

The purpose of the visit was to provide an overview of the IMT-GT framework, including its areas of collaboration and objectives. During the visit, CIMT presented a project proposal from DEEP (Demand-Side Energy Efficiency Project) aimed at improving energy efficiency in buildings on Batam. Additionally, CIMT suggested a connectivity project (Ro-Ro) between Batam and Johor States, Malaysia.
