On 15 June 2023, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister of Perak’s office and were received by Perak State Secretary, YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi. Mr. Firdaus Dahlan was accompanied by Ms. Melissa Mokhtar, Deputy Director of CIMT, Mrs. Raja Saza Nur Aquilla and Mr. Heriawan, Project Coordinators of CIMT.

During the visit, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan and YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi expressed their support for the City of Ipoh as the host of the upcoming 6th Green Cities Mayor Council Meeting (GCMC) and 6th Green Council Meeting (GCM) in August 2023. YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi also expressed his full support for the Visit IMT-GT Year 2023-2025 program, which is aligned with the Visit Ipoh Year 2023 Campaign.

Furthermore, YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi suggested that more transboundary projects be pursued by the IMT-GT, not only as a means of showcasing the participating countries, but also to foster greater collaboration between local governments and the private sector.
