Since its inception, IMT-GT has stood as a testament to the enduring partnership and shared aspirations of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Rooted in mutual trust and regional solidarity, this subregional cooperation platform continues to drive progress that enhances connectivity, strengthens economic resilience, and improves the quality of life for our people.

Guided by Vision 2036, IMT-GT strives to become an integrated, innovative, inclusive, and sustainable subregion. This vision is brought to life through the close collaboration of our member countries, the private sector, academia, and development partners who together advance projects that promote growth, sustainability, and social well-being.

The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), as the subregional secretariat, remains steadfast in its role as the coordinating and facilitating body of this cooperation. We are committed to ensuring that policies translate into actions, and that every initiative contributes meaningfully to a more connected and competitive subregion.

As we look ahead, our focus remains on building an ecosystem of collaboration that empowers communities, embraces innovation, and upholds sustainability for future generations. Through unity of purpose and shared commitment, we continue to transform aspirations into tangible results that benefit the 96 million people who call the IMT-GT subregion home.

ABOUT CIMT

The Centre for Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) is the central secretariat of IMT-GT. Established in 2013, CIMT serves as the coordinating and implementing institution that drives cooperation among the three member countries.

CIMT facilitates collaboration between governments, the private sector, academia, and development partners to strengthen regional economic integration and sustainable development. Guided by the principles of inclusivity, reciprocity, and impartiality, CIMT transforms IMT-GT’s Vision 2036 and the Implementation Blueprints into concrete actions that generate meaningful impact across the subregion.

The CIMT Senior Management Team comprises representatives from the three member countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The positions of Director and Deputy Directors are selected and nominated by member countries according to alphabetical rotation to ensure balanced leadership and shared ownership within the subregion.

At present, the Director position is held by Malaysia, with two Deputy Directors representing Indonesia and Thailand.
