The Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) has successfully conducted the 15th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) Breakout Session of Working Group on Environment (WGE) virtually, on 5th April 2022.
Chaired by Mr. Pavich Kesavawong, Director of Foreign Affairs Division of the Office of the Permanent Secretary from Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Thailand, the breakout session was also attended by delegations from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Indonesia, Ministry of Environment and Water of Malaysia, together with Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of CIMT and other WGE members.
This breakout session is a platform for WGE member countries to set the workplan to be carried out this year under the new IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022-2026. The meeting also aimed at addressing the pressing climate change and biodiversity issues across the subregion, besides sharing and updating each country’s existing and indentified new projects/programmes to be included in the working group’s portfolio. All projects/programmes which have been identified and aligned with the WGE Strategic Framework in this occasion will help to attain the targets of IB 2022-2026. This breakout session of WGE received a good turn out with the support from the IMT-GT Chief Ministers’ Governors’ Forum (CMGF) and IMT-GT Joint Business Council (JBC) representatives.
