Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, the Director of the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), paid courtesy call to the Governor of Riau in Pekanbaru on 20 July 2023. The purpose of the visit was to update the Governor on the latest progress of IMT-GT cooperation, and to seek inputs and comments from the Governor of Riau for the upcoming CMGF meeting and IMT-GT Ministerial meeting to be held on 26 – 29 September 2023 in Batam City – Riau Islands Province, Indonesia.

During the visit Mr. Firdaus Dahlan also provided the Governor with updates on the Visit IMT-GT Year 2023-2025 and explored the potential of combining the visit IMT-GT year program with the province’s promotion activities. During the meeting, the Governor of Riau expressed his expectation on the completion of pending PCP connectivity projects RO-RO Dumai – Melaka. It was informed that Indonesia has upgraded the facilities of the Dumai Port to meet requirements for the implementation of the project.
