Dialogue on Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chain in the IMT-GT Subregion in Bangkok, Thailand

7 August 2025 – Advancing Sustainable Palm Oil, Strengthening Subregional Impact

The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand and the IMT-GT Working Group on Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry (WGAA), convened the Dialogue on Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chain in the IMT-GT Subregion in Bangkok, Thailand.

This high-level dialogue brought together policymakers, industry players, smallholder groups, certification bodies, and development partners from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to explore joint solutions for a more sustainable, inclusive, and competitive palm oil ecosystem across the region.

Discussions focused on harmonising sustainability standards, integrating smallholders into global value chains, and leveraging IMT-GT’s Economic Corridors for efficient logistics and trade. The session also addressed key policy and cross-border challenges—laying the groundwork for actionable recommendations under the IMT-GT framework.

A step forward for responsible trade, resilient livelihoods, and our shared commitment to green growth.
