Accelerating Inclusive Digital Transformation in the IMT-GT Subregion.
24–25 July 2025 — The 4th IMT-GT Working Group on Digital Transformation (WGDT) Meeting convened in Bangkok, marking the first in-person gathering to advance inclusive and people-centric digital development across the subregion. Chaired by Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), delegates from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand reviewed the progress of key activities under the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026, with a focus on ICT-led growth and regional digital integration.
In conjunction with the meeting, a seminar on “Leveraging Digital Technology and Innovation to Drive the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Digital Transformation under IMT-GT” was held on 24 July 2025. The session brought together national strategies and practical innovations, featuring insights from Phuket City Development, Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University, Walailak University, and MARA University of Technology (UiTM). Discussions centred on halal tech, cross-border e-commerce, and inclusive 4IR models, reflecting IMT-GT’s unified commitment to building a smarter, more connected, and resilient subregion.
