14 August 2025 — The 19th Meeting of the IMT-GT Working Group on Halal Products and Services (WGHAPAS) convened in Hat Yai, Thailand, bringing together representatives from CIMT, JBC, UNINET, and relevant government agencies to strengthen collaboration in the halal sector.

The meeting reviewed progress under the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022–2026, discussed the outcomes of the 16th IMT-GT Summit and Strategic Planning Meeting, and examined key findings from the Mid-Term Review. Updates were also presented on flagship projects, including the Halal Industrial Hub in Riau and Thailand’s Halal Blockchain initiative.

Moving forward, the Working Group agreed to enhance alignment between project outcomes and IB performance indicators, explore collaboration with JBC and UNINET, and finalise preparations for the 32nd Senior Officials’ Meeting and 31st Ministerial Meeting. These collective efforts will drive a more integrated, innovative, and globally competitive halal ecosystem across the subregion.
