18th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting Outlines Key Initiatives for 2025

The Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Subregional Cooperation successfully convened its 18th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) from 25-27 February 2025 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The meeting was hosted and chaired by Malaysia, with participation of delegates from Indonesia and Thailand. The event featured eight Working Group breakout sessions, as well as discussions with the Joint Business Council (JBC) and IMT-GT University Network (UNINET).

The meeting focused on finalizing the work plan for 2025 and identifying key priority initiatives to strengthen subregional cooperation. Key outcomes of the meeting included the planned signing of the Framework of Cooperation in Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on IMT-GT Palm Oil Cooperation. Member Countries looked forward to the signing of both documents during the upcoming 18th IMT-GT Summit in May 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

These strategic initiatives are set to enhance collaboration across the three nations, fostering economic growth and development in the subregion.
