14 July 2026, Virtual — The 19th IMT-GT Working Group on Trade and Investment Facilitation (WGTI) Meeting was held, with Indonesia serving as the Chair.
Delegates from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand reviewed the progress of trade and investment initiatives as the subregion enters the final year of the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2022-2026.
The Meeting reaffirmed the importance of accelerating cross-border trade through the full implementation of the Framework of Cooperation in Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Procedures (FoC in CIQ), maximising intra-subregional trade, and leveraging the IMT-GT Trade Fair, which will be held in conjunction with the 32nd IMT-GT Ministerial Meeting in Medan in September 2026. The discussions reflected the Member Countries’ continued commitment to strengthening trade facilitation, promoting investment, and advancing regional economic integration across the IMT-GT subregion.
