4 August 2026, Satun — The 19th IMT-GT Working Group on Tourism Meeting brought together representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to strengthen subregional cooperation and advance a more connected, sustainable, and inclusive tourism sector.
The Meeting reviewed progress on the implementation of key tourism initiatives under the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026 and discussed priority actions to further position IMT-GT as a competitive single tourism destination.
As part of the programme, delegates visited the Satun UNESCO Global Geopark, where they experienced Satun’s unique geological heritage and learned how cross-border collaboration can promote sustainable, community-based tourism, strengthen geoconservation efforts, and foster inclusive local economic development.
