9 October 2026, Penang — The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) participated in the 1st IMT-GT Engineering Economy Convention 2026, organised by the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), with CIMT Director, Mr. Amri Bukhairi Bakhtiar delivering the Opening Keynote.
His presentation provided an overview of IMT-GT’s development, future priorities, and opportunities to strengthen cross-border connectivity, advance sustainable infrastructure, and promote investment across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
The engagement highlighted the importance of synergy between technical expertise and social development in finding solutions to support IMT-GT’s vision for an integrated, innovative, inclusive, and sustainable subregion.
