On 27 June 2023, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, the Director of the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Subregional Cooperation (CIMT, had the opportunity of visiting Dato’ Ir. Rajendran A/L P Anthony, the Mayor of Penang Island. Accompanying Mr. Firdaus Dahlan was Ms. Wariya Pisuchpen, Deputy Director of CIMT.

The purpose of the visit was twofold. Firstly, to convey gratitude to Dato’ Ir. Rajendran for his support as one of the panelists for the upcoming IMT-GT High-Level Panel Forum (HLPF) scheduled to take place on 12-13 July 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Secondly, the visit served as a cordial invitation to Dato’ Ir. Rajendran, who also holds the role of Vice-Chairman of the IMT-GT Green Cities Mayor Council Meeting (GCMC), to attend the forthcoming IMT-GT Green Cities Mayor Council Meeting scheduled for 7-9 August 2023, in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. In addition to the above mentioned, Director of CIMT also briefed Mayor of Pinang Island on opportunities to develop cooperation on green projects, tourism, and solid waste management.
