The 3rd IMT-GT Working Group on Environment Meeting took place on 6 – 7 July at Hotel Santika in Padang, Indonesia. Chaired by Dr. Ir. Haruki Agustina, MSc., from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, the meeting was attended by Ms. Azizah Abd Aziz, General Consulate of Malaysia in Medan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mrs. Wacharee Chuaysri from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Kingdom of Thailand. The meeting included representation from Mr. Firdaus Dahilan, Director of CIMT, and Dr. Vonny Indah Mutiara, Head of International Services Office at Universitas Andalas, as UNINET’s representatives.

During the meeting, Mr. Krzysztof Zbigniew Kaczmarski introduced a transboundary pilot project between UN-ESCAP and IMT-GT, while Mr. Gary Krishnan and Ms. Pamela C. Asis-Layugan presented new collaborative efforts from the ASEAN Development Bank focusing on the blue economy. These initiatives hold the potential to enhance cooperation within the subregion to further support its developmental endeavors.
