West Sumatra offers destinations like Padang, Padang Panjang, and Tanah Datar, with the West Sumatra Grand Mosque and the Lima Kaum Mosque, which blend with Minangkabau culture. Meanwhile, Riau and the Riau Islands highlight the An-Nur Mosque in Pekanbaru and Penyengat Island, with its Sultan Riau Grand Mosque, as centers of Islamic history and tourism.
In Malaysia, various destinations have developed into Muslim-friendly areas with comprehensive facilities. Langkawi (Kedah) is a prime destination with resorts, beaches, and tourist activities complemented by halal culinary delights. Penang boasts the heritage district of Georgetown and the Kapitan Keling Mosque, surrounded by halal food centers. Kuala Lumpur boasts icons like the National Mosque and Jamek Mosque, while Melaka is known for its Kampung Hulu and Kampung Kling Mosques, which reflect Islamic history. In the eastern region, Terengganu and Kedah feature the Crystal Mosque and Zahir Mosque as religious and cultural tourist attractions.
In Thailand, Muslim-friendly tourist destinations are found primarily in the southern region and major tourist destinations. Phuket and Krabi (Ao Nang) offer halal restaurants, mosques, and marine tourism activities run by the local Muslim community. Bangkok boasts the Haroon Mosque area, which offers halal cuisine and prayer facilities. Meanwhile, the provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat highlight Malay-Muslim culture, local mosques, and natural and cultural attractions that reflect the Islamic identity of Southern Thailand.
