18 May 2026 — The Webinar on Oil Spill and Tarball Management: Sharing Experiences and Best Practices in the IMT-GT Subregion convened experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to strengthen regional cooperation in addressing marine pollution challenges across shared waters.
Hosted by the Pollution Control Department of Thailand and the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), the session began with an introduction by Mr. Amri Bukhairi Bakhtiar, Director of CIMT, followed by opening remarks by Mr. Jiraphong Kuhakarn, Deputy Director-General of the Pollution Control Department, Thailand.
Featuring perspectives from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, the webinar highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing, coordination, and collective action in strengthening environmental resilience across the IMT-GT subregion.
