27 July 2026, Virtual — The 5th IMT-GT Working Group on Digital Transformation (WGDT) Meeting was successfully held virtually, together with the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2027–2031 Sectoral Consultation Workshop on Digital Transformation.
Delegates from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, CIMT, the Joint Business Council (JBC), and the University Network (UNINET) reviewed progress under the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026, advanced discussions on the development of the IB 2027–2031, and explored collaboration on the implementation of the SME Growth Project, preparations for the upcoming AI webinar, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Baseline Survey.
The Meeting also featured a presentation by the ASEAN Secretariat on the upcoming ASEAN’s Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), highlighting its potential benefits and opportunities for the IMT-GT subregion.
