The Director of Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand (CIMT) Growth Triangle, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan received a courtesy call visit today from Mr. Gary Krishnan, Senior Country Specialist of Regional Cooperation & Operations Coordination Division, and Mr. Stephen S. Peters, Senior Energy Specialist (Waste to Energy), from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Also present during the courtesy visit were the Deputy Directors of CIMT, Mr. Mohammad Akhir Abdul Rahman and Khun Wariya Pisuchpen.

Both sides spent a fruitful hour discussing the potentials to explore collaborative efforts in the New Ocean Economy (NOE) Initiative – a multi-discipline, multi-sector area, centered on the ocean ranging from energy generation, converting expired rigs to reefs, to seaweed farming.  Both sides from CIMT and ADB agreed to further discuss to identify potential projects by engaging relevant IMT-GT working groups in Q1 2022. It is expected that the project proposal can be finalised shortly for its implementation in 2022.
