19 August 2026, Jakarta — Representatives from ASEAN, UN ESCAP and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) gathered for the ASEAN–EAEU Dialogue and Capacity-Building on Digital Cooperation and Development.
The three-day event organised by UN ESCAP provided a platform for participants to exchange knowledge and perspectives, strengthen understanding between ASEAN and EAEU, and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation and capacity building between the two regions.
The Director of Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) participated in the event and shared perspectives from the IMT-GT subregion that can contribute to the implementation of the ASEAN-EAEU cooperation, particular on the digital economy. The event provided the way forward in leveraging the advantages of the two regions in further promoting digitalisation and application of AI technologies for economic development.
