On 13 January 2023, the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (CIMT) was invited for a briefing and engagement session with the Pahang State Government Office, at Wisma Sri Pahang in Kuantan. CIMT delegations were led by its Director, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, and was warmly welcome by the Deputy Secretary of the Pahang Government (Development) Dato’ Razihan Adzharuddin. Also present during the engagement session were officials from Pahang State Development Cooperation, Pahang Port Authority, East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn. Bhd. and Pahang Cooperation Sdn. Bhd.
During the meeting, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan provided a detailed explanation regarding the function of IMT-GT and its role through its eight focus areas or pillars that may benefit the State of Pahang. The State Government representative also gave a briefing on the goals and focus of investment in the State of Pahang, especially for proposed collaborative programs that can be implemented.
As Pahang along with two other states namely Johor and Terengganu recently joined the IMT-GT subregional cooperation, it is hoped that the economic capabilities between the member countries involved can be further improved and will bring great benefits to the people of the subregion.
