On June 9, 2023, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, .S.Pi, DEA, Rector of Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) in Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia. Mr. Firdaus Dahlan was accompanied by Ms. Melissa Mokhtar, Deputy Director of CIMT, and Heriawan (Project Coordinator & Analyst). Both, Director of CIMT and Rector of UMRAH exchanged of views on how UMRAH can enhance its participation in IMT-GT cooperation.

During the visit, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan was also invited to deliver a public lecture ’which was attended by more than 300 students. Mr. Firdaus Dahlan highlighted the significance of IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation for the Riau Islands and the potential benefits that can be further developed for people in Riau Islands. As public University, UMRAH showed its keen interests to develop projects/programmes under blue economy.
