9 April 2026, Putrajaya — The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) welcomed a courtesy visit from Mr. Mohammad Effendi bin Jamaludin, the newly appointed Head of the BIMP-EAGA Facilitation Centre (BIMP-FC).
BIMP-FC serves as the secretariat of the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), a subregional cooperation platform that, like IMT-GT, advances economic development through cross-border collaboration.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening cooperation between the two subregional platforms, with discussions highlighting shared priorities. The engagement also underscored the importance of institutional partnerships in advancing inclusive and coordinated growth across ASEAN’s subregions.
As sister subregional initiatives, IMT-GT and BIMP-EAGA continue to play a complementary role in translating regional aspirations into tangible, on-the-ground impact.
