7 September 2026, Medan — The National Secretariats of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand convened in Medan, Indonesia, for the IMT-GT National Secretariats’ Meeting.
The Meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming 33rd IMT-GT Senior Officials’ Meeting and 32nd IMT-GT Ministerial Meeting, including key agendas, programme arrangements, and meeting outcomes.
The Meeting also reviewed CIMT activities and Working Group outcomes for 2026, the draft SOM Report and Joint Ministerial Statement, and preparations for the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2027–2031. Discussions further covered ongoing partnerships with the ASEAN Secretariat, Asian Development Bank, and Republic of India.
The Meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the National Secretariats to strengthening coordination and cooperation among the three Member Countries towards a more connected and integrated IMT-GT subregion.
