4 August 2026, Medan — The IMT-GT Training of Trainers (ToT) on Tour Guide was successfully held. Organised under the IMT-GT Working Group on Human Resource Development (WGHRD) by the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) Medan, Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower, the programme brought together tourism trainers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Throughout the programme, participants strengthened their competencies in tourism learning principles, curriculum design for certification, cultural heritage interpretation, eco-tourism and sustainable tourism practices, risk management and tourism safety, and service excellence for hospitality standards. The training was complemented by practical field exercises and live guided tours, equipping participants to deliver competency-based tour guide training aligned with international standards.
The programme reflects IMT-GT’s continued commitment to strengthening human capital, enhancing cross-border collaboration, and supporting the development of a competitive and sustainable tourism sector across the subregion.
