On 16 February 2021, CIMT and Bank Negara Malaysia conducted a meeting via video conference to further discuss the potential area of collaboration between IMT-GT and Bank Negara, especially but not limited to Halal Products and Services focus areas. CIMT was led by Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of CIMT, while Bank Negara Malaysia’s delegation was led by Dr. Hamim Syahrum Ahmad Mokhtar – Deputy Director, Banking Development unit. The two hours discussion come up with several plans such as to enrich the capacity of Halal SMEs in IMT-GT and to create awareness about Islamic Finance, especially to IMT-GT network through Working Groups and Joint Business Council.
