23 July 2025 – As part of the 18th IMT-GT Working Group on Tourism (WGT) Meeting, delegates traded suits for sandals and dove into the natural and cultural wonders of Langkawi!
The day kicked off with an exciting tour of Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, a key site within the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark. Delegates cruised through lush mangrove forests, explored ancient caves like Gua Kelawar and Gua Cerita, and even had a close encounter with Langkawi’s cheekiest locals—the monkeys! The experience continued at Kompleks Kraf Langkawi, where they painted batik, crunched on kuih karas, and savoured kuih denderam.
This hands-on experience isn’t just for fun, it’s a meaningful step toward crafting more authentic, sustainable, and cross-border tourism gems across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
