7 August 2025 – The 17th IMT-GT Working Group on Transport Connectivity (WGTC) Meeting was successfully held in Jakarta, Indonesia, bringing together key transport sector stakeholders from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, alongside partners from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and UNINET.
The meeting reviewed progress of Physical Connectivity Projects along the IMT-GT Economic Corridors; including major initiatives such as the Second Bridge Link across the Golok River and the Melaka – Dumai RoRo service.
Participants also explored opportunities in maritime decarbonisation and discussed collaborative mechanisms to accelerate multimodal cross-border connectivity, enabling the seamless movement of people and goods across the subregion.
