4 September 2025 — The 31st IMT-GT Ministerial Meeting (MM) was successfully convened in Trang, Thailand, bringing together IMT-GT Ministers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, along with Chief Ministers and Governors, Senior Officials, CIMT and representatives from key development partners, including the ADB and ASEAN Secretariat.
This high-level meeting provided an important platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic decision-making, underscoring the collective commitment to fostering deeper integration within the IMT-GT subregion.
During the meeting, IMT-GT Ministers reviewed and provided guidance on the outcomes of the 32nd Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and the 22nd Chief Ministers’ and Governors’ Forum (CMGF). These discussions had laid a solid foundation for advancing shared priorities, addressing ongoing challenges, and identifying opportunities for sustainable development.
The Joint Ministerial Statement was also adopted, which encapsulates their unified vision and aspirations for the subregion. The statement serves as a guide to enhance cooperation in areas such as trade facilitation, investment promotion, infrastructure connectivity, and inclusive economic growth. Looking ahead, the Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing IMT-GT Vision 2036 through deeper integration, sustainable growth, and inclusive cooperation.
