8 September 2026, Medan — Senior Officials from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand convened in Medan, Indonesia, for the 33rd IMT-GT Senior Officials’ Meeting.
The Meeting marked the handover of the IMT-GT Senior Officials’ Meeting Chairmanship from Thailand to Indonesia and reviewed progress in implementing the IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026, including updates from the sectoral Working Groups, IMT-GT University Network (UNINET), and Joint Business Council (JBC).
The Meeting also discussed continued collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and Asian Development Bank, the IMT-GT–Republic of India Development Partnership, and preparations for upcoming IMT-GT meetings, including the 17th IMT-GT Summit and 20th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting.
The Meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the three Member Countries to strengthening regional cooperation and advancing the IMT-GT agenda towards a more integrated, connected, and resilient subregion.
