Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Palm Oil Cooperation

10 September 2026, Medan — The Governments of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Palm Oil Cooperation during the IMT-GT Ministerial Meeting in Medan, Indonesia.

The MoU reaffirms the shared commitment of the three largest palm oil producing countries to strengthen cooperation and enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the palm oil industry across the IMT-GT subregion.

The collaboration will focus on strengthening the palm oil value chain, promoting sustainable practices, improving productivity and quality, supporting smallholder communities, and advancing research, innovation and knowledge exchange.

Through this cooperation, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand aim to build a more resilient, competitive and sustainable palm oil ecosystem, contributing to economic growth and the implementation of the IMT-GT Vision 2036.
