In preparation to welcome India as the first country of Development Partner of IMT-GT, the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) received a courtesy visit of H.E. Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Secretary (East) from the Ministry of External Affairs of India, on 12th April. The India delegation was also joined by Mr. Vishvas Vidu Sapkal, Joint Secretary (South) – Ministry of External Affairs of India, and officials from the High Commission of India to Malaysia

Both CIMT and India had a good session discussing about the potential areas of cooperation and partnership between the IMT-GT and India. The visit was a gesture of appreciation to CIMT for facilitating the process in officiating India as a new development partner to the subregion cooperation. Both IMT-GT and India look forward to formalizing the partnership and developing concrete cooperation that will benefit people on both sides.
