WORKING GROUP ON TOURISM (WGT)
The Working Group on Tourism (WGT) aims to make IMT-GT a top regional tourism destination that is sustainable, inclusive, and competitive. It supports the recovery and long-term growth of tourism through greater connectivity, thematic circuits, and sustainability.
OBJECTIVES
- The tourism sector is safely reopened with sustained growth
- Priority thematic cross-border tourism circuits are well-developed and connected
- The sustainability, inclusivity, and competitive advantages of the subregion as a tourist destination are enhanced IMT-GT as a single tourism destination
OPPORTUNITIES
- Opportunity to transform subregional tourism industry from mass and low-cost to high-end and low-density tourism
