On 7th April 2022, the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) had successfully conducted the 15th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) Breakout Session of Working Group on Agriculture & Agro-based Industry (WGAA), virtually.
Chaired by Dr. Ade Candradijaya, Director for the Center of International Cooperation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, the breakout session was also attended by Mrs. Juliana Hii Li Li, Senior Principal Assistant Secretary (AB) A of the International Division from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries of Malaysia, and Dr. Vanida Khumnirdpetch, Ph.D., Director of Bureau of Foreign Agricultural Affairs from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand. Also in the breakout session were Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of CIMT, Mr. Mohammad Akhir bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director of CIMT, representative from IMT-GT Joint Business Council (JBC) and other WGAA members.
This breakout session is the first meeting of the year for WGAA, to set the work plan to be carried out under the new IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022-2026. Besides sharing and updating each country’s existing and indentified new projects/programmes to be included in the working group’s portfolio, this breakout session also had the chance to discuss on IMT-GT cooperation on Palm Oil industries in IMT-GT. All projects/programmes which have been identified and aligned with the WGAA Strategic Framework in this occasion is set to accelerate in achieving the targets of IB 2022-2026.
