15TH IMT-GT STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETING (SPM) OPENING SESSION

On 31st March 2022, the Centre for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) had successfully conducted its 15th IMT-GT Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) Opening Session, to officiate the following series of meetings and breakout sessions for the working groups that are under the IMT-GT focus areas of growth.  

Chaired by Hon. Dato’ Ahmad Zamri bin Khairuddin, Director Regional Development Division for Economic Planning Unit (EPU) from the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia, the meeting was also attended by Hon. Mrs. Netty Muharni, Assistant Deputy Minister for Regional and Sub Regional Economic Cooperation from Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs for the Republic of Indonesia, and Hon. Dr. Wanchat Suwankitti, Deputy Secretary General from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) for the Kingdom of Thailand. Also present during the meeting are Mr. Gary Krishnan, Senior Country Specialist of the Regional Cooperation and Operations Coordination Division, for Southeast Asia Department, from Asian Development Bank, and Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, the Director of CIMT.

Nearing towards the finalisation of the new IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022-2026, this meeting among others, aims to familiarise the new IB 2022-2026, to discuss in bringing forward the IB 2017-2021 projects onto the new IB 2022-2026, to identify and propose project/programme to be implemented under strategic framework of IB 2022-2026, and to identify and resolved issues and problems that may require coordination in implemenation of projects/programmes under the Working Groups. This meeting had a total of 106 participants with the support from all of the Working Groups that are under IMT-GT, as well as the IMT-GT Joint Business Council (JBC) and IMT-GT University Network (UNINET).
